Evisu was formally born in Osaka, Japan
in 1991 - the brainchild of tailor and vintage denim junkie
Hidehiko Yamane. His disappointment with mass-produced modern
jeans led him to revolutionize the business by amassing
ancient, antiquated machinery to faithfully reproduce
vintage-style jeans. The selvage denim he reintroduced into
the world began as more of a labor of love than a commercial
venture, but captured the imagination of the detail-obsessed
Japanese fashion cognoscenti. This spurred a revival of
interest in vintage, high-end denim which has since spread
across the world and revitalized an entire industry. Evisu
have a fanatical devotion to quality and authenticity, while
maintaining a sense of humor and irreverence. |
